Get Support on Testifying Against H. 4624, Anti-Transgender Youth Healthcare Bill in the Senate

A Senate subcommittee of the Medical Affairs Committee just scheduled a hearing on H.4624, a cruel ban on medically necessary healthcare for transgender youth, for Valentine’s Day – February 14th. Extreme lawmakers are turning what should be a holiday of love and acceptance into a heart-wrenching fight for LGBTQ+ equality in SC.

The subcommittee of the Medical Affairs Committee meeting is likely our last chance for the public to testify in support of trans youth healthcare access in 2024 – so we want to be sure you know how to take action. There are two ways to testify:

  1. Attend the Hearing in Person: The most impactful way to speak out is in person – by attending the subcommittee hearing on Wednesday at Room 308 in the Gressette Building of the South Carolina State House. To do that, you can only sign up in person 30 minutes prior to the hearing, but please let us know that you're coming via the form below, so we can keep in touch and coordinate logistics with you. We expect the subcommittee hearing to begin Wednesday mid-morning; folks who plan on attending should convene with us at 9:30AM.

  2. Submit Written Testimony: If you cannot attend the meeting virtually or in person, you may submit your testimony opposing H. 4624 by writing it out and emailing it to smedicomm@scsenate.gov by noon on Monday.

Need support with your testimony, or want to stay in touch on Wednesday, February 14th with all of the logistics? Please add your name below and our Rapid Response Organizing Team will be in touch directly.
