Fueling the Fight in 2024 – With a $10,000 Matching Gift

Thousands of South Carolinians took action with the SC United for Justice & Equality coalition in 2023 – and we’re so grateful for all you did to hold off any anti-LGBTQ+ bills from passing this year. That was a real feat in a year when 80+ legislative attacks were enacted nationwide – and shows the power of what’s possible when we mobilize together..

Now we need to keep it up in 2024 – because, despite the majority of our state supporting LGBTQ+ equality, extremist lawmakers are planning to push an aggressive slate of anti-LGBTQ+ bills in 2024, and we need to be ready to protect our progress.

That’s why we’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 by the end of this year – and now, thanks to contributions from SC United steering committee member organizations, every gift made before December 31 will be automatically MATCHED, up to $10,000. Can you support the SC United for Justice & Equality coalition with your donation?

We’ve been running the SC United coalition since the end of 2020, and we’ve never asked grassroots donors to support this work financially. But the fight we’re in for next year calls for all of us to level up.

Donations will go toward supporting rapid response organizers in key regions across the state so they can put pressure on lawmakers when and where it will matter most. They’ll also help support our on-the-ground efforts to mobilize South Carolinians at the Statehouse, which we anticipate we’ll need to do repeatedly in the first half of 2024.

Our plan will only work if we have the resources to fight back against the well-funded and well-organized anti-LGBTQ+ movement. We’ve fought attacks before, and we can do it again, with your help. Please pitch in a donation of $100, $50, $5 or whatever you can to support this work. Thanks y’all!
